In response to the tragic sinking of the South Korean ferry "Sewol" in 2014, which resulted in 304 deaths, the NANHAI Technology Center launched a research initiative. They developed a core technology for pneumatic floats, capable of providing up to 200 tons of buoyancy each, significantly contributing to the successful salvage of the "Sewol" ferry. This innovation in salvage technology has been recognized globally as a groundbreaking achievement.
- The dimensions of the designed pneumatic floats are 3.5 meters by 21 meters.
- Each pneumatic float can provide buoyancy of 200 tons.
- The working pressure reaches 0.15 MPa.
