Pneumatic floats assisted in the successful completion of the Yulong Island refinery and chemical project
Nanhai's advanced floating technology assisted CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. in successfully completing the installation of drainage culverts for the Yulong Island integrated refinery and chemical project in Yantai.
CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. is constructing the Yulong Island refinery and chemical project with a total investment of 127.4 billion yuan. This project aims to achieve a crude oil processing capacity of 40 million tons per year and serves as a benchmark for promoting high-quality development and the transformation of old and new growth drivers in Shandong Province.
- The box culvert measures 24 meters in length, 18 meters in width, and 5 meters in height, weighing 1850 tons；
- Stable, safe, and cost-effective, saving 50% of the project costs；
- Each box culvert uses 20 large pneumatic floats, providing a total buoyancy of 1200 tons；
The project requires the installation of 123 large box culverts, each measuring 24 meters in length, 18 meters in width, 5 meters in height, and weighing 1850 tons. Our technical team and the client's construction team overcame challenges and determined the use of pneumatic floats for culvert installation. Each culvert utilizes 20 large pneumatic floats, providing 1200 tons of buoyancy, allowing the culverts to float steadily on the sea surface and completely eliminating the need for large floating cranes, significantly reducing installation costs. This method has gradually become the preferred buoyant installation solution for offshore culvert projects in petrochemical and nuclear power industries.
